Our Organic Beef
The Cattle are bred and grown on Hukarere Station – a certified organic hill country station based in West Otago covering an area of 20,000 acres. Hukarere Station is New Zealand’s largest family owned working organic sheep and cattle farm. They then go on to graze on a certified organic farm in Geraldine for a few months before they make their way to us.

New Zealand Organic Meats was brought together by directors Paul Ruddenklau and Neville Parkinson who both come from strong farming backgrounds with years of experience between them. Organics brought the two families together, and soon it became clear that both of their farming families shared similar values and end goals. Their story of how they became involved in organic farming and sustainable management practices was spurred by a desire to do better for their land, produce clean and healthy produce for their family, and encourage other farmers to do the same.
They’ve united producers with the ability to provide high-quality, certified organic livestock, safeguarding the supply chain’s integrity. New Zealand Organic Meats is made up of 40 well-known organic meat producers who all work well together to grow organic meat.

Their producers livestock graze on pastures that are completely free of synthetic chemicals, pesticides, and herbicides. Antibiotics and growth promoters are not used on the animals. Every year, all farms are audited and certified according to internationally recognised organic standards.

To guarantee timely delivery and consistency of production, NZOM works very closely with its producers inside of the organic network. They complement one another’s productivity by providing connections and a range of management capabilities. NZOM will work with the farmers to facilitate the movement of store stock to ensure as much organic beef and lamb will stay inside the organic system as possible, enabling NZOM to supply all year round.

Ben and George Bostock grew up on their family’s organic apple orchard in sunny Hawke’s Bay and share a family passion for healthy, safe growing practices where there is control from the farm to plate. This means no chemicals, no antibiotics, no hormones and no genetic modification. The brothers are determined to give their organic chickens the best life. Their apple orchard provides the perfect environment to farm organic chickens. The birds enjoy a happy life roaming freely among the apple trees and are housed in uniquely designed french chalets, which are clean and spacious and enable the chickens to roam freely outside once they are fully feathered.

On our orchard, the chickens grow naturally so as a result the meat is better formed, it’s higher quality and superior tasting.
